Senior Game Programmer (Unity)

   

Aquiris is looking for a professional with proven experience in game development to work in the Looney Tunes World of Mayhem mobile game. Your primary activities will be architecture and develop the game client in Unity Engine, delivering high quality, high performance and clear code that will be maintained by the entire team, mentor developers with less experience than you, iterate and develop systems with the design and product team.

Responsibilities

Work closely with designers, animators, and artists on the implementation of systems and features to bring the team’s vision of the game to life. Analyze and improve performance across all target platforms. Design, implement, and test game systems, including the implementation of automated tests and tooling to support asset pipelines. Debug and fix crashes, concurrency issues, and platform-specific problems. Research and propose improvements to processes and pipelines. Own key engineering features including documentation and training. Mentor other team members, ensuring they are gaining technical knowledge.

Requirements

Comfortable working in both Windows and MacOS Unity environment developing for Mobile platforms. Strong understanding of object-oriented design and software development principles Strong math skills with emphasis on 3D vector math. Experience working with at least one enterprise-level object-oriented programming language, and understanding of one or more dynamic languages (preferably C#). Outstanding problem-solving capabilities, analytical and critical thinking, excellent verbal and written communication skills. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent experience.


Experiences that count as a major plus

Prior experience with commercially released titles using Unity. Strong understanding of game engine architecture. Experience working with agile methodologies. Experience working on an environment with microservices and Web APIs Experience with multiplayer game programming Experience working on large-scale projects.

Senior Backend Programmer

   

Aquiris is looking for a Senior Backend programmer to join the Wonderbox team. You will work on the backend technology for the game to support the game's systems. You will be a crucial member of our engineering team and help design, build, and maintain systems necessary to allow thousands of users to play the game concurrently. You love scaling large systems, automating AWS, designing RESTful APIs, and keeping response times low (sub-100ms). We love engineers strong in Java, C#, Python, Google Go, have experience building on AWS, and know their way around its services.


Responsibilities:

  • Design, architect and implement high-traffic, large-scale web APIs.
  • Build infrastructure on top of AWS services: DynamoDB, Cloudformation, RDS, Redis, SQS, Route 53.
  • Automate every point of the backend processes.
  • Monitor, and fix problems in the production environment.
  • Guide the backend team to ensure the adoption of best practices in software development.
  • Define and keep technical KPIs for the game's backend services.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of object-oriented design and software development principles.
  • Strong understanding of web-based architecture (web servers, load balancing, caching, databases, replication, etc.).
  • Strong experience developing data-driven web applications in Java or C#.
  • Experience working with RESTful frameworks.
  • Experience working with large amounts of data using SQL and NoSQL (Redis, DynamoDB) databases.
  • Experience working with at least one enterprise-level object-oriented programming. language, and understanding of one or more dynamic languages.

QA Analyst

   

The QA Analyst will be responsible for creating and implementing test plans for the Wonderbox . You will collaborate and coordinate with peers and senior management to ensure the quality of the final product.


Responsibilities:

  • Write test cases according to feature specifications
  • Create test plans for version validation
  • Estimate, prioritize and plan software testing activities
  • Define the priority of bugs according to established guides
  • Test games on supported devices.
  • Report bugs clearly and directly, adding all the necessary details so that the team responsible for solving the problem has a full understanding of what is not correct.
  • Observe and disclose quality control metrics, such as defect density and number of open defects;
  • Survey the need for tooling to test functionality and specify the scope.

Requirements

  • Solid knowledge of software quality control techniques, tools and methods.
  • Good writing skills in Portuguese and English.
  • Desirable:

    • Know how to navigate engines like Unity and Unreal.
    • Have experience with automation.
    • College degree in information systems, computer science or game design.

    Previous experience:

    • 3+ years of experience with software testing.
    • Have actively participated in at least one release software homologation process.

Technical Artist

   

AQUIRIS - The award winning developer of the Horizon Chase Series and Looney Tunes World of Mayhem - is looking for a Tech Artist to join our team on an unannounced multiplatform game (PC, all consoles and mobile).

We are looking for a Tech Artist to join our team and collaborate to set the bar for excellence in a new high quality game.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Art and Engineering teams to establish pipelines and workflow for asset production;
  • Create shaders and provide support for artists and programmers;
  • Integration of UI, contemplating aesthetic and functional results;
  • Deliver and guarantee art efficiency and good performance on multiplatform.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience as a Tech Artist in games or related industries;
  • Experience with shader creation (GLSL / HLSL).
  • Technical or graduate degree in the area of art, game development or design (visual, graphic, industrial).

Nice to have:

  • Knowledge in the functionality of hardware and CPU/GPU processing;
  • Proficiency in creating materials in Unreal or shaders/shadergraph in Unity3d;

Technical Game Designer

   

Aquiris is searching for a unique talent to join our team. You will work on Looney Tunes World of Mayhem, a game launched in partnership with Scopely and Warner Brothers. We are searching for a professional committed to the quality of the product, with experience in game development and a deep understanding of Unity and spreadsheets.

You will focus on supporting all of our development processes that involve game design and maintenance work, improving and building tools, participating in design and product discussions, and assisting the development team.


Responsibilities:

  • Design tools to support the game designers and maintenance work of the game as a whole.
  • Use your expert knowledge of Unity/scripting and spreadsheets to help optimize our design creation processes and prototypes.
  • Participate in the tools and features prioritization and ideation process to provide insights on balance, structure, and strategy.
  • Work closely with the Game Design and other development teams to analyze the game meta in order to suggest new features and improvements.
  • Work closely with the live ops managers team to support events and ensure product quality.
  • Deal with live issues so that the player's experience is always the best.

Requirements

  • A minimum of 2 years as a game developer (design or programmer).
  • Bachelor degree in computer science, game development or equivalent work experience.
  • Technical expertise in using Unity and spreadsheets.
  • Experience documenting, modeling and developing game tools.

Level Designer

   

Aquiris is looking for a talented Level Designer to join our team and work on an exciting unannounced multiplatform project (Mobile, PC, and Console).

Responsibilities

  • Work with our Level Designer and our Lead Game Designer to establish concrete plans for meeting the project goals, which include design levels that are fun, challenging, and memorable for our players.
  • Craft those levels using our proprietary tool, iterating from prototypes to the final gameplay.
  • Understand the needs of our target audience, proposing changes and new mechanics to solve problems during the game development.
  • Propose improvements to our tooling, making it the best tool to attend all our needs.

Requirements

  • A portfolio showing planning, organization, and execution of levels for video games. Anything relevant for the Level Design and Game Design area is very valuable for us (prototypes, methodologies, etc);
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, both in Brazilian Portuguese and English.
